Lotsa Pasta Shopping Menus

Hi, I’m back.  I have a few minutes to spare, today, so I’m posting to my long neglected blog.  I still think of all of you guys often.  Hopefully, this will be a trend and I can post more often.

So, here’s the menus and shopping lists to go with them.  I’m in the mood for pasta, I guess because almost every day is pasta of some kind or other.  Enjoy!

Day 1: Chicken and Biscuit Kabobs p. 620, Mixed Vegetables, Green Salad, Sliced Pears

Day 2: Fettuccine with Chicken p. 620, Green Salad, Green Beans, Raspberries and Cream

Day 3: Spaghetti with Sauce and Meatballs p. 416, French Bread, Green Salad, Peaches and Cream (notice a trend here?)

Day 4: Meat Loaf p. 377, Carrots, Baked Potatoes, Sliced Apples

Day 5: Tex-Mex Tortilla Soup p. 554, Buttered Toast, Sliced Oranges

Day 6: Fish Fillets (I’m just using frozen ones, I’m pretty busy, lately), Broccoli and Cauliflower mix, Rice

Day 7: Lasagna (I’m just using a frozen one, but you can make it from scratch if you have time), Green Salad, French Bread

Shopping List

Produce

  • 4 Medium Zucchini or Yellow Summer Squash
  • Green Salad (enough for the week)
  • 3 Pears
  • 1 Pint Raspberries
  • 4 Onions
  • 3 Green Sweet Peppers
  • Celery
  • Fresh Parsley
  • Fresh Cilantro
  • Jalapeño Chile Pepper
  • 6 Fresh Peaches
  • 1 lb. Carrots
  • 6 Potatoes
  • 3 Apples
  • 3 Oranges
  • 1 Avocado
  • 2 Limes

Dry/Canned Goods

  • 2 Cans Green Beans
  • 3 (14.5 oz.) Cans Diced Tomatoes
  • 6 oz. Can Tomato Paste
  • 8 oz. Spaghetti
  • 2 (9 oz.) Packages of Sweet Red Pepper Fettuccine
  • 7 oz. Jar Oil Packed Dried Tomato Strips or Pieces
  • 3 (14 oz.) Cans Reduced Sodium Chicken Broth
  • Tortilla Chips
  • Rice

Cold

  • 9 Refrigerated Buttermilk Country Biscuits
  • Butter
  • 2 Pints Half and Half
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • 2.5 lbs. Ground Beef
  • 12 oz. Package Skinless Boneless Chicken Breast Strips (or buy regular breasts and slice them yourself)
  • 1.25 lbs. Skinless, Boneless Chicken Thighs or Breast Halves
  • 1 Cup Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese

Frozen

  • 9 Frozen Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks
  • Mixed Vegetables
  • Corn
  • Broccoli and Cauliflower Mix
  • 6 Fish Fillets (or more if you are big eaters)
  • Lasagna (big enough to feed your family or buy the stuff to make it from scratch)

Bakery

  • Bread
  • 2 Loaves French Bread

Make Sure You Have: honey, olive oil, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, salt, 2 cloves garlic, cooking oil, basil, oregano, marjoram, sugar, dry breadcrumbs, ketchup, brown sugar, dry mustard, chili powder, cumin
